The crib is not for sleeping anymore!

Yesterday, I thought it was amusing that Carleigh discovered her mirror toy in her crib!  She was amusing herself upon waking from a nap (the bumpers helped her pull herself to the sitting position) and I was pleased that instead of finding a fussy girl, I found a happy girl.
If I just grab this handle ...
Caught me, Mom!
Staring at herself in the mirror!

So today, we did our normal playing this morning.  She has really been pushing off things to stand up, but I didn't think much of it.
She's pushing in front of her now, til her legs get underneath her.
Carleigh checking out the family blog!

During her first nap, when I heard some struggling on the handheld video monitor, and I looked at the screen, I bolted upstairs because Carleigh wasn't in the picture.  This is what I found when I got upstairs.
I guess it's time to lower the crib mattress?  Even after a few falls, she was all smiles!

High maintenance for sure!

Besides being a finicky eater,  poor sleeper, and bad teether, Carleigh is an amazing little girl!  And all of those things are most likely correlated to her reflux issues not being completely controlled.  Still, high maintenance just seemed appropriate for today's blog post title!

At today's nutritionist appointment, they switched her formula once again to Neocate, another corn-syrup based (ridiculously expensive) formula in hopes that she'll want to drink more and not tear up at each bottle feeding.  We also plan to add a scoop to every solid feeding in hopes to add calories to her daytime feedings.  One of these days, she'll sleep through the night, right?  The nutritionist did say (and reassured us) that we need to continue to feed her at night until she takes in more during the day.   We go back for a weight check/med check in 2 weeks.
Her belly may be tiny, but she takes after her mama in the thigh department!
Look, standing on my own!

Carleigh got her ears pierced!

Yesterday we decided on a whim to get Carleigh's ears pierced.  I had been wanting to since her 4 month doctor's visit but couldn't bring myself to since they always give her shots at her appointments.  So since we were going to be shopping, I brought the subject up to Dustin, and he seemed okay with it.
(morning before we did it!)

We went to Claire's at La Cantera (a far cry from the Doctors office, but it really wasn't bad), and Carleigh actually only cried (wailed) when the actually piercing was being done.  Immediately after, we gave her a bottle and she drank a little and she calmed right down.  Then she allowed Dusty and me to continue shopping and was all smiles for the remainder of the day!  We just have to clean them 3 times a day and twist them.  Carleigh doesn't even cry when we do that!  Big girl!
Just before ...
Just after ...
Bubba and Gigi took us out to dinner last night and were quite excited to see her new bling on her ears!  It had been awhile since Bubba had seen her so he was happy to get to spend time with her.  Mimi and Shay were quick to follow suit today and stopped by to see our shiny-eared girl!  They loved the new additions, too!  We're so happy to have gotten it done ... she'll never remember the few seconds of pain!

Bubba feeding C!

She was getting so sleepy at dinner!  But not too sleepy to test out the feel of Bubba's cigar!
That made him proud!
All smiles and sparkly today!
With Mimi and Shay!!!
