After eating, we gathered the kids to the start line (no cheaters, because we turf sprayed the line!) for a little birthday fun race. On your marks, set, GO!
Off they went...
... that is, everyone but Parker.
He was immobilized. Just staring in confusion at everyone.
With a lot of coaxing and another round of racing from the big kids, we got him moving. Wish it was this easy normally to keep him still!!!
Finally, he crossed the finish line and got his medal!

We attempted to take finisher photo pictures but this is proof that family photos don't always come out picture perfect. Yes, Dustin is holding a fake gun to his head. Sheesh. I just wanted a family photo.
A little Daddy magic and we got a smile, but really he was stretched thin at this point!
A grandparent/grandchildren photo! Not too bad! And then it was cake time!
All the kids were more than ready!
And Parker looked ready! He had no idea what was about to happen. "Happy Birthday" began being sung and the waterworks began. Isn't that pretty status quo for 1st birthdays?
He also didn't like the cake at first. He didn't mind the icing though! He got it all over his forehead and eyes because he kept rubbing them because he was tired so we knew we'd hit the max on fun for him.
He said his good byes to his guests (ok, so Mommy did for him) and was off to nap by 2 pm.
Everyone else binged on sugar and stayed a little longer.
Thanks everyone for coming to Parker's 1st birthday party!!! You all helped to make it extra special!
