Sibling Photos

While not professional, I made an attempt to take some photos of the kids yesterday morning since Carleigh had a cold at our professional shoot last week.  Parker's definitely coming out of his sleepy phase but I thought these turned out cute!

Such a Good Big Sister!

Since we've gotten home from the hospital, Carleigh has impressed us with her attitude towards Parker.  We haven't had any incidents of jealousy and she's only exhibited a more helpful spirit and a bit more independence.
I've heard that this could be a blessing and we could just be lucky or things could take a turn for the worse as he gets a bit older and requires more than just feeding, changing and holding.  I'm sure when he begins to move and can take her things, we'll have some problems but for now, I'm hoping she'll keep her good behavior up!
She tries to give him toys and rock him in his swing.
Tara gave Carleigh her own baby boy doll and Carleigh's been practicing feeding, changing and burping him when I have to do these things to her brother.  She thinks her doll is so much like Parker!
I am ecstatic at what a good big sister she is!

Braided Beauty

Love that my girl is letting me do her hair!  We channeled Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz or Laura Ingalls (Little House on the Prairie) with these side braids and she was patient and loved how they looked!  Some days she just says "just do a ponytail, Mommy" but others she lets me experiment.
Her hair is getting so long!  I love it!!!

1 Week Old!

So true, little man, so true!

One of Many Home Photoshoots

TAKEN: 10/25/2011 5 days old

I'm a total amateur, basically a "mom" photographer, but it's a passion of mine and I have so many cute outfits for him to wear so you'll be seeing lots of little home shoots of mine!
What's so crazy, is I was just saying to Dustin in the hospital that I couldn't believe how his little thighs were so skinny and didn't have any rolls on them and on day 5 of his life he had 4 rolls on them!  Funny how that makes parents happy. He's a chunky little monkey, or at least chunkster in the making!
Love this close-up I captured with his eyes barely open!  Love you sweet boy!

It's So True What They Say About TWO!

I think I mentioned during my pregnancy about my worry about how I would love another child as much as I love Carleigh.  Everyone said it would come, and I knew it would, but it was so reassuring in the hospital to get hit like a truck with the swarm of emotions and burst of love the instant I saw him and felt him on my chest!
Holding him and having Carleigh be so wonderful is the best feeling ever!
She has been nothing but helpful, accepting and friendly to him!!!  I am keeping my fingers crossed that the behavior continues!
Pretty soon, when Dusty goes back to work, we'll settle into our daily routine and since we won't be going too many places until he's a bit older, we'll try to stay busy and I'll continue to include her in Parker's activities.  Lovin' life!!!

Up, Up and Away!

This past weekend Papaw installed two swings on our back patio.  They are removable so when we want to have adult parties we can take them off their mounts.  We can also remove one when Parker gets bigger and put up a baby swing in it's place.
So far, every day, Carleigh wants to swing first thing in the morning and then in the afternoon, too!
These swings are Daddy tested and can hold a good amount of weight!  That's a good thing because Carleigh likes swing companionship!

Carleigh's Zoo Trip with Bubba and Gigi

Bubba and Gigi took Carleigh to the zoo Saturday morning and sent me these phone pics.  Carleigh loves seeing all the animals and they said she was a great girl for them!

What's that face?

The introduction to popcorn went well!
Popcorn and a train ride?  AWESOME!  When I asked her what her favorite part of the zoo was she said, "zebras and hippos!"  Alrighty, then!  Thanks, Bubba and Gigi!!!

Bringing Parker Home

Twenty-four hours after Parkers entry into the world and we had him in the carseat in our car on the road home.  He had to pass his hearing test first which he did with flying colors and then we were good to go!
He developed a bit of a chin rash from nursing but the pediatrician said a little hydrocortisone 1% will nip it in the bud.
Check out his "coming home" outfit!  Carleigh's matches!  Courtesy of Gigi!
Aunt Shay and Mimi came up to the hospital to send us off!
Carleigh has been a big help already reading to her baby brother (showing him the pictures in the books) and giving him baby toys.  No jealousy ... yet.

This picture melts my heart!
Happy family of 4!  Especially happy to start life at home!

Parker Griffin Tondre Is Born!

Thursday was the day!  Parker Griffin Tondre made his arrival!  He was born at 1:59 pm, a healthy 7 lbs, 2 oz. (larger than anticipated) and 19.5 inches long.

Labor was short and relatively easy.  I had a bit of a problem with my blood pressure getting too low but ephidrine helped to get it back up and my dilation was rapid once my pitocin got to a level 10.  I requested my epidural at 12:20 pm when I was at 5 cm and it didn't take.  Unfortunately there wasn't time to fix it.  Let's just say birth this time around wasn't the most pleasurable experience and I can't say I was as quiet as I was with Carleigh, but the nice thing was that recovery was incredibly fast.  I was up and about almost immediately.

My last photo pregnant!
Welcome, little man!
7 pounds 2 ounces!  The doctor thought you'd be in the 6 range.  Guess my ice cream binging those last few weeks helped you out, buddy!
Instant love!
Overjoyed!!!
Look at that sweet face!
Bubba and Parker, his third grandson.  He is never too comfortable holding newborns...
Parker and his Gigi!
Proud Mimi!
Papaw's thinking about what he can build the little guy.
He seems so tiny!  He doesn't have much hair, but what he does have is blonde like Carleigh's was.
Carleigh came up to the hospital shortly after Parker was born and went to see him in the nursery.  Her first reaction: she cried.
Parker's first bath at the hospital.
Once we brought Parker back into the room with us, and I sat with her and talked to her about what a big helper I needed her to be, she came around.  Ever since that talk, she has been nothing short of amazing with him!
Parker's Godparents, Tara and Brad!
Kisses for her baby brother!
Our family is complete!

39 Weeks

I made it to 39 weeks!  Look at my little mini-me copying me!

A three mile jog this evening hoping for contractions ... and nothing!
