Carleigh's 4th Birthday Party - The Decorations

Words can't describe how pleased I am with how Carleigh's birthday party turned out!!!  This was the first year that I didn't uber-plan, meaning my vision only began to take shape 6 weeks out from the party.  I had pinned a ton of lalaloopsy stuff on pinterest, but in early June, I realized I had to get on top of invitations/décor/food/etc.  So unlike me, but as the years go by, I'm getting better at this party stuff and truly enjoy doing it, rather than get overwhelmed by it!

So many people contributed to this party and more importantly, my parents and Dustin's parents, came up a few days early to help me get it all in place!  I seriously don't know what I'd do without them!

The best was Carleigh's desire to help and her reaction to all the décor!  She was so excited that we had turned the house into "lalaloopsy land!"
With Carleigh's help wrapping them in clear cellophane, I made "lollipops," to line the driveway and back flower beds.

My mom and I created two backdrops for the interior sweets table and the exterior food table using blue flat sheets.
The three-tier, tri-flavored lalaloopsy cake, tasted just as good as it looked, and was made by a friend in the neighborhood!

The kids took bags of candy home from the candy bar along with their other party favors.

My mom embroidered beach towels for each friend and we displayed them in Carleigh's Lalaloopsy house (a present).  It was a swim party, after all!

Each child also took home a lalaloopsy coloring book, which we set out with crayons as an additional party activity outside.
Dustin's parents had this custom vinyl sign made for Carleigh!  So lucky to have family with connections. :)
Kid table centerpieces were button decorated buckets with windmills and fans poked into foam inside.  Real flowers adorned the adult tables.
Party perfection!

Capturing the curls

At 20 months, Parker's hair has straightened a bit as it's grown longer but it still has a lot of wave in it (both Dusty and I had curly hair as kids).  I just wanted to capture the curl while he still has it because who knows how long it will stick around!

Friends, Family and Fishing

Friends came up to the lake Saturday which made for even more fun for Carleigh.  She had a friend to play with and they were inseparable.  It also provided a little relief for everyone else she didn't demand as much attention. :)
We spent Saturday and Sunday doing more relaxing and at the Sandy and Dustin even got out the fishing poles and fished with Carleigh.  The fish were biting and Careigh got lucky fast!  She didn't mind fishing for fish, but once she caught them, she would get a little grossed out.  Parker was only interested in running around with a hookless pole.  And just general running around ... the boy loves to play chase!  All in all it was an amazing long holiday weekend with family and friends!

More lake fun

The weather was amazing all weekend at the lake so we were able to enjoy the boat and the water.  Parker and Carleigh came out to the sandy with us and had fun playing with other kids in the shallow water.  It was nice to socialize and get some sun!
The kids also enjoyed wave runner rides with Daddy!  Carleigh is now at the perfect age to enjoy everything!!!  Parker's still in the learning curve age range.  But willing to try most things, nonetheless.
Good times on the lake always equal great nights' sleep!  Yay for lake fun!

Holiday Weekend at Lake LBJ

We spent the remainder of July 4th weekend up at the lake visiting Aunt Merl and Uncle Buster, Aunt Phyllis, Aunt Shay, Pace, Diana, Donna, Rick, and Mimi and Papaw!  Since Merl and Phyllis wouldn't be making it up to Dallas for Carleigh's birthday, they decided to throw her a little early birthday the day we arrived!  She was so excited!!!

Lots of Lalaloopsy goodies and even a few small things for Parker!  Everyone was elated!!!
