Robyn's Baby Shower

This past weekend, Robyn's friends and family gathered to celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Brock.  Hostesses, Jaci, Cindi, Brittany, Holly, Megan and myself, threw a bowtie themed shower for Robyn and everything came together so nicely!

Ritzy Rugrat goodies always make great decorations!
My tissue pom skills came in handy.

When Robyn arrived, we had a surprise for her.  Jaci approached her with an itty bitty baby girl and asked if Robyn knew who she was.  Robyn was perplexed.  That is, until Callie, came around the corner!  Callie flew in just for this event from California and Robyn was ecstatic to see her and baby Elley.
Robyn and all the gals that came to the shower.
Callie, Robyn's neice, helped her open the gifts.
Friends for going on 20 years this fall, I was honored to be a hostess.  I can't wait to meet Brock and have play dates in the future with him and Parker!

The Things This Girl Says

I had better document it before I forget.  In the past month or so, Carleigh's picked up some sayings and they are too funny to forget!

1.  "Oh my gosh"
2.  "Don't forget to give me a hug and a kiss!"
3.  "I love you to the moon and back"
4.  "I will kiss your booboo"
5.  "Don't cry Parker or you'll go to timeout"
6.  (when Parker is fussing or crying) "Mama, I think he needs a bottle (or nap, or diaper)."
7.  "Totally!"
8.  "Tell me a story, Daddy (or Mama)."
9. "Boys are stinky, but not Carter!"
10.  "It's ok, she's shy." (when other little girls don't respond to her questions/greeting)

So Grown Up

Carleigh has really started to look so grown up.  Notice I said look, and not act.  :)  The other day she wanted her picture taken in her only detachable belted dress.  The girl is obsessed with the belt!    When I asked why she wanted her picture taken, she responded with "because I want to see how beautiful I look."  Oh my!

Seriously, legs crossed?

And Parker, too!  He reminds me of Dustin all the time!!!  And he seems so big to me, even though he's still so little.  Poor little guy falls often so he always has a bump on his head.  But he's still smiling.  Go figure.

Both of you, stay little please!!!

Let me help

Now that Parker can do more, look who is is interested!

The only problem is that Carleigh only weighs about 10 pounds more than Parker, so holding him up is a little tough for her.  But that doesn't stop her from trying!

Backyard Swim

Weekday baby pool swimming is a lot easier to orchestrate than going to the neighborhood pool.  That's because I have two very dependent children, tons of stuff to pack and an infant schedule with which to adhere.  Oh ya, and only one me.  Neighborhood and gym pool time will for sure commence this summer but I will definitely need an extra set of hands to help me out.

Thankfully, the kids don't care where we swim as long as we swim!!!  And Parker loved the warm baby pool water!

The pool was just the right height to pull up on!
Look Mom, only one hand!!!
This is awesome!

Carleigh had a blast sliding again and again.

I'm glad we have another free summer activity to do - that they love!!!

Parker's First Tea Party

Probably the first tea party of many ... I was just excited that Carleigh extended Parker the invite without me bringing it up first.  She's channeling Pinkalicious, I suppose.  Belle and Pinky joined them.

Carleigh laughed at Parker because he didn't do anything right.  She said "he's so silly, mama!"

"More tea, Parker?"
Another cracker for Belle.  I loved hearing her having a two way conversation with Belle and Pinky.  Her imagination is taking off!  They talked about the rain outside, their favorite colors, foods and princesses.  Carleigh questioned Belle about her best friend and discovered that Belle had a peepee accident (water spilled so that's how she spun it).
Parker continued to mess things up.
Oh, brother!!!
Everyone enjoyed tea time!

Adorable

Everyone thinks their own kids are adorable!  So it shouldn't surprise anyone that I take tons of pictures of mine and that I think they are indeed ... adorable!  But I do feel like lately, their behavior, while sometimes still atrocious, improving.  Dare I say, Carleigh's moving past the tantrums phase.  No I'd better not say it because tomorrow is a new day and you never know with this girl!

This one is my favorite!
I just want to squeeze them!  Just when I thought they can't get anymore adorable, they do!!!
