Lost and earring but gained a hairstyle!

We've been a bit of an allergy/cold mess this week and to top it off yesterday, Carleigh lost a hoop earring.  Being 2, and overdramatic, it was quite an upset for her!  I put studs back in her ears and promised more dangles in the near future.  Crisis averted.
So today, Carleigh awoke, earring forgotten but opinionated nonetheless about her attire.  She wanted to wear this outfit instead of the Longhorn tshirt and pants I had set out.  She also wanted me to "fix" her hair.  "Fix it, Mommy!" over and over after I did it half up.  Unsure of what she meant, I seized the moment to try a partial french braid to give me more practice and to give her a different look.  I was pretty pleased wtih my work, as was she!  Perhaps I can convince her to put her gameday attire on a little later...
She wasn't in her typical cheeseball smile mood and gave me some real faces when I asked for them.

My favorite: "Show me your silly face."  I didn't just get a face, I got a silly move!  Let's hope next week brings less snot and more smiles!!!

Go Horns!

I caught Parker giving me this hand signal in his sleep this morning and only had my phone to snap a photo of it.
He must've been dreaming about a Longhorn win this weekend vs. K State!

Parker is 4 weeks old!

Time is flying!  At four weeks old Parker is doing great!  He is sleeping 3-4 hour increments at night and 2 hour intervals during the day but goes back to sleep immediately!  He is such a laid back baby, only crying when hungry and fussy minimally.  He still spends most of his days asleep but is beginning to stay awake for 10-20 minutes at a time (if at all) post-feedings.  He is definitely an eater and is growing so fast!!!

We are getting a bit stir crazy staying in the house.  At around 6-8 weeks, I'll feel more comfortbable taking Parker out in public.  I can't believe he's a few days shy of 1 month!  We'll never have another 4 week old ever again.  :(  We love you, Parker!

Mommy's Ballerina

She wants to start dance but I was planning on waiting til she turned 3.  Unless, Mimi or Gigi want to chip in for lessons?  Maybe a Christmas gift???
Carleigh is just like I was at the age and loves the outfits!  I remember being 6 or 7 and my dad tried to get me to play soccer, and I had a heart-to-heart with him and told him that if I couldn't wear a skirt, I didn't want to play.  Hence why he tried tennis (way to hot out there), so only dance and tumbling seemed to stick for me!

For Carleigh, spinning in a "tutu," as she calls it, is so much more fun than spinning in regular clothes.
I usually call her "Mommy's princess" but she tells me when wearing this that she's "Mommy's ballerina." Okay, then!

My Turkeys

It's mid-November!  Time for turkey and for Parker to wake-up!
He tried his best!
But ultimately sleep won out!  He's still sleeping about 90% of his days!!!
Look at that smug little smirk!  No turkey for you this year, little buddy!
I love these two turkeys!
Gobble, gobble!

Big Sister = Big Helper

Not sure if the birth order or her naturally "pleasing" type personality, but since being given the new title of "big sister," Carleigh's been very eager to help in any way she can!

We can now add sweeping to her list of domestic talents!

Parker's Awake!

It doesn't happen for long each day, but for about 10 minutes after each feeding, Mr. P stays awake long enough to get in a little play time before zonking out again!  Tuesday I got some pictures of him during one of these rare times.
A rare glimse into his pretty eyes!
Carleigh showing him her princesses while he checks out the playmat.
Carleigh decided the playmat was pretty interesting, too!
They look they are both into it!
Don't cry, brother!  Awake time is over for you.  I will stay awake and play for you.

Everyone is sleepy these days!

Having a new baby in the house makes everyone in the house a little sleepier!
Carleigh has had a few rougher nights where she has awaken in the middle of the night or awaken prematurely in the morning and though it doesn't affect her temperment during the day (unlike Mommy), she definitely drags a bit in the mornings.
Nothing a little snuggling on the outdoor patio with Dora, books and her version of a cup of joe (juice) to get her days started now that it's fall and the weather is cooler.

Two Week Tummy Time

I took these pics last Thursday on Parker's 2 week birthday.  Parker hasn't had much tummy time and I wanted to try to keep him awake after eating.  I was successful at keeping him awake for maybe 10 minutes but he was not too happy about being on his tummy.

I think this was the most noise he has made since he made his arrival into the world!  Look at that head lift!  Impressive, buddy!  All that activity wore him out.  He proceeded to take another 3 hour nap.

Li'l Piddler

Parker wore this adorable basketball onesie that my mom made him last week and after feeding him, I felt a warmth on me that I knew could only be urine.  I put him down and saw that he had soaked through his diaper (a quality he share with his sister), and had to snap a picture.
His shirt should have read "Li'l Piddler, don't you think?  Or Carleigh suggested "Little Pee-er."  Original.  Poor guy goes through lots of changes, some necessary and some just for Mommy.  He's always a sport, though!
